1300 87 55 00Experience the excitement and adrenalin of white water rafting on this half day adventure to the Barron River Gorge in North Queensland. The rapids are graded 2-3 with two - 'Rooster Tail' and 'Cheese Churn' - in particular being challenging.
Your white water rafting experience starts with a pickup from your accommodation. You will meet your Trip Leader on the coach and will be transferred to Lake Placid, where the fun begins!
Journey to Barron Gorge whilst your guides explain the safety procedures and safety equipment will be waiting for you upon arrival. Enjoy up to 2 exhilarating hours of white water action with your guide and negotiate rapids such the Cheese Churn, Hell's Gate and Rooster Tail. Once at Lake Placid, enjoy a swim, pack up your raft and change into dry clothes. You can then enjoy light refreshments while previewing the day's action photos.
Depart Lake Placid with transfers back to your accommodation. Our half day rafting option is great for groups, incentives and beginners and combines readily with other popular North Queensland adventure tours like hot air ballooning or horse riding.
The Barron River Gorge is located 20 minutes north of the Cairns City centre and lies along a traditional pathway used by the original indigenous Djabugay people. The spectacular Barron Falls, further upstream, are considered a sacred site.
