The day on the train could not have been better. All the staff knew our names and had a lovely little area put aside for us. The train itself was beautiful inside, and the speed was slow enough that you got to have a really good look outside. The cheese platter and drinks were great, and the staff serving did a fantastic job. The sights, the sounds, the smell... all fantastic!!!

I was told I was to be a VIP and from the first to the last, that is how my lady and I were treated. Attentive, without sucking up. In all, a great time had by myself and my lady. Bear in mind too, I'm known to be quite picky at times. All good! Thank you.

It was excellent! My husband and I had such a great time on this steam train. We were so relaxed watching the scenery along the track and during the walk around in the Maldon township. What a wonderful day!

The experience on the steam train was terrific. The footplate ride was great and first class carriages were fantastic. The service from the staff was exceptional and friendly, the cheese platter was delicious and the champagne was refreshing!

We had a wonderful time! Any train lover needs to experience this as it's step back in history and also a whole heap of fun. A cheese platter and glass of bubbly on an old train is nothing short of exceptional. Thank you!

The vintage train from Castlemaine to Maldon and return was fabulous. The great care and attention which has been paid to the restoration of the carriages, makes you feel like you are actually travelling during that era. All the volunteers who run this railway should be congratulated on their professionalism and the care and pride they take in providing a memorable experience.

I felt like I was back in my childhood especially when the conductor asked for our tickets and punched them with the old ticket punch. On the return trip we sat outside the last carriage watching the train tracks and waving to people, I got a great kick out of that!

What a great day. We got off the train at Maldon and spent a lovely afternoon looking through Maldon and having lunch, after a great leisurely afternoon we made our way back to the train station. We boarded the train and now was my turn to ride 'the foot plate'. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE, amazing to see and hear what these volunteers do. All in all a great experience!

The steam train journey was so enjoyable, truly a step bank in time. It was so relaxing watching the scenery pass by from our restored luxury cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Maldon, having lunch and exploring the second hand stores. It was a great way to spend a day!

I bought the Goldfields tour for my mum and she and I had a fantastic time. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel special. Mum got such a 'buzz' when she got the opportunity to sit up with the engine driver for half of the trip. We had a lovely table set with wine and nibbles for the journey. Overall it was a fantastic experience. Well done!
